Friday, Feb. 6

Fredericksburg

A special evening for dads and daughters to dress up, dance, and make sweet memories together at this annual community event hosted by Fredericksburg Parks & Recreation. This year’s theme is Out of This World, with a fun space-inspired atmosphere.

Step into local history with a special monthly open-house event at the Pioneer Museum. This family-friendly day invites visitors to explore historic buildings, watch demonstrations of pioneer skills like spinning and blacksmithing, and participate in a scavenger hunt. Admission includes access to the Pioneer Museum, the Vereins Kirche Museum, and the Historic Jail with interpreters and hands-on activities. It’s a fun way for kids and adults to learn about early Texas life at their own pace.

Kerrville

A magical morning at Cafe at the Ridge featuring a princess meet-and-greet with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, plus pancakes and photo-worthy moments. This is a ticketed, limited-capacity event and a great fit for Frozen-loving kids.

A free, drop-in Valentine’s craft event where kids can paint L-O-V-E blocks at McCoy’s Building Supply. A quick, low-pressure stop that’s perfect for little makers and an easy weekend activity.

Time: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Happening at all McCoy’s locations.

A hands-on art workshop where participants learn the full papermaking process, from blending recycled paper into pulp to pulling sheets, pressing, and drying finished paper. Hosted by the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center, this relaxed class explores texture, color, and creativity using dried flowers, botanicals, natural dyes, and other embellishments.

Kid note: I haven’t head back from them as of yet to confirm but my hunch is this is best for pre-teens/teens or upper elementary kids who enjoy art projects and can follow instructions. Probably not ideal for toddlers.

A family-friendly movie afternoon featuring the classic animated film The Land Before Time, shown as part of The Arcadia Live’s Iconic Film Series. A nostalgic pick for parents and a fun big-screen experience for kids.

An inclusive, family-friendly dance hosted by the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation, welcoming all “someone special” pairings. Enjoy a magical evening of music, dancing, and memory-making, complete with a live DJ and professional portraits.
